I hope all is well and everyone is staying healthy and remaining positive! In addition to hearing ‘reopening the economy’ discussions and seeing stock market gains, we are also noticing signs of recovery and normalcy in the real estate market. I’ve seen an increase in new listings in all price ranges for buyers to consider, and have been tracking a greater number of comparables that are receiving offers as I watch neighborhood activity for my upcoming sellers. It feels as if we are turning the corner…..
We are also staying patient. There is no need to rush into anything if you have virus concerns. Realtors, sellers, and buyers are promoting social distancing measures, adjusting showing practices, and working together to prevent close proximity, unneeded touching, and the variables that could lead to a spread of the virus. These changes are helping the local housing market to regain momentum quicker than anticipated, but we realize each situation is different and should be approached at the client’s chosen speed.
During this transition the Number 1 focus for a buyer or seller is to feel comfortable! Enjoy the process! Make sure you go at your own pace. Do not proceed in your search, your listing, and your planned timeline if you feel uncomfortable at anytime. The housing market will still be active when you decide you’re ready. I feel this slowdown will be similar to a long extended Midwest winter, it will push our busier season later into the summer and probably extend into fall. The market will always be there. Whenever you are ready, let us know, we’ll be ready too!
Stay healthy and positive. Thanks!
